Index of Getúlio Vargas Foundation measures the general price fluctuations of the Brazilian economy

The prices of wholesale agricultural products rose 2.10% last month, after rising 1.12% in February, according to the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV), which announced on Wednesday (8/4) inflation measured by the Index General Price - Internal Availability (IGP-DI) from March. The index measures the general price fluctuations of the Brazilian economy.

The organization also said that the prices of industrial products in wholesale were up 0.90%, compared to the increase of 0.13% in the same comparison basis.

Within the Wholesale Price Index according to Processing Stage (IPA-EP), which allows you to view the transmission of prices along the production chain, prices for finished goods rose 0.69% in March, after an increase of 0.30% in the previous month.

In turn, the prices of intermediate goods rose 1.41% last month compared the advance of 0.22% in February. The prices of gross raw materials registered an increase of 2.34%, compared to a drop of 0.39% in the same comparison basis.
